The race is on!
The Escrick 10k Committee is pleased to announce that the Escrick 10k & Fun Run are now on!!
The Run takes place on 24th August starting at 11am on the Village Green with the Fun Run starting at 12:30.
As usual a BBQ and other refreshments will be available all day. Friends, family & supporters are all welcome.

North Yorkshire County Council have rejected the claim for a Public Right of Way through Queen Margaret's School to the Temple and back.
This is mainly due to the lack of evidence.
Therefore it is not in the agenda for the North Yorkshire County Council Planning and regulatory functions sub-committee on Friday 7th March.
The applicant can appeal.

North Yorkshire County Councils Planning and Regulatory sub-committee will meet on 7th March at county hall at 10am.
It will consider the application for a Right of Way through from Main Street past Queen Margaret's and to the Temple and back.
A report will be presented, comments from the public for and against made and then a decision made by councillors as whether to make an alteration to the definitive map.
A report will be available approx one week prior to the meeting date.

If the application is rejected, the applicant has 28 days to appeal. If an order is made, there will be a six weeks consultation period when people can submit objections or representations in favour. All must be supported by evidence.
If any outstanding objections cannot be resolved then the matter is referred to the Sec of State. He will appoint an Inspector who will examine all the evidence and may call a public enquiry and will then make a decision on whether or not the Order shall be confirmed. Only then, will the Definitive Map be altered.

Possible attempt theft of caravan- Temple Hirst
At approx 1230hrs 29th January, a white Ford Transit was sighted reversing up to a caravan parked on a driveway at Temple Hirst. When confronted the occupant got back in the vehicle and drove off towards Carlton. The male is described as stocky build, mousy coloured hair, aged mid 30's to 40. Please remain vigilant and ensure caravans are secured with hitch locks, wheel locks etc. Please report anything suspicious to North Yorkshire Police on 101
Police are asking for you to keep observations out for a Silver 5 Door Saloon Peugeot 306 XRDT, registration N424KWT. This vehicle is suspected to be used in vehicle crime in North & West Yorkshire. If this vehicle is sighted please phone the police on 101 with details.

Plans for an anaerobic digestion plant at the North Selby Mine site were passed on a 10-5 vote by City of York Council’s planning committee.
The scheme will now be referred to Communities and Local Government Secretary, Eric Pickles, because of its green belt location.

Week commencing 20th January 2013: The Parsonage will be resurfacing the lane from the A19 to the surgery.
Access will be very limited and patients will need to park in the Parsonage car park and walk to the surgery.

From City of York Council: The planning application will be decided at the Planning-Committee meeting on 23 January 2014, at 4.30pm at West Offices, Station Rise, York.
The recommendation for this application will be "Approve after referral to Sec. of State".

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has now completed its review of Selby District.
The Commission’s final recommendations have been published this morning and are available via the link below.
These new arrangements will be implemented for the May 2015 district election.
